After shave and rubbing
Posted on August 22, 2009, 6:50 amAfter shave and rubbing alcohol also do the trick. It tingles when applied, but helps keep them from forming.

I've used Coochy before too
Posted on August 22, 2009, 9:04 amI've used Coochy before too and it worked really good and most adult stores will have it in stock too. You might have to deal with whatever feminine scent they have but who cares. Now I use a Norelco Bodygroom shaver. I prefer it for several reason. I don't have to replace blades, buy shave cream or gel, I also don't have to worry about cutting myself. It was recommended to me by a friend and he swore by it. It was only like $20 so I thought why not give it a try. It gives a really close shave and you can do it quickly daily or every other day does the trick for me. I had just got tired of putting a razor blades to my best friends throat all the time HAHAHAHAHAHA! No really, for me it didn't matter what I used I still got ingrown hairs. This happens when the hair is pulled out or is broken or cut below the surface of the skin and that's easy when you stretch you skin to shave and you kind of have to if you want to shave down below. This is another reason I went with the shaver. Just weigh your options and see what works best for you. Unless you end up going with a pro wax it's all fairly inexpensive.

The advice I have for you is
Posted on August 22, 2009, 12:09 pmThe advice I have for you is only shave the area in stroke. It has helped me. I have been hairless for several years and shave every couple days. I shave against the grain in one stroke. It helps to let the hot water hit the area for a while. I do all of my other stuff, wash hair, body, and whatever else and then do my shaving. Occasion ingrown, but it takes a few times to get rid of the bumps and itch. Make sure you clean before and after and should be easy after a few attempts. Good Luck with it. My wife uses a BodyBare and it works great for her, not the best for me.

That's good advice. That's
Posted on August 22, 2009, 1:31 pmThat's good advice. That's exactly what I was doing when I shaved with razors. Another good point cwilly03 made is that what works good for one doesn't necessarily work for another. You just have to keep trying until you find something that's best for you. At the advice of others I even tried depilatory creams. It works for some guys but it sure didn't for me. If I didn't leave it on long enough it didn't do a good job and the skin was too sensitive to use a razor and if I left it on long enough it would burn some areas and that's just bad. Epilation works if you can take it. I tried that once at the adivce of others again without an epilator that is. I would just pluck hairs till I was tired. It took a few days to do it all and the results were great and I was hairless without shaving for a while but then with the prospect of doing the whole thing over I just opted to go back to shaving. It was just faster.

I had the same problem for
Posted on August 30, 2009, 3:51 pmI had the same problem for several years. I could never get the bumps and ingrowns to go away. A couple years ago I finally had to buck up and have laser hair removal. It is pretty expensive but the results are incredible-

An epilator does work
Posted on September 1, 2009, 3:41 pmAn epilator does work extremely well and will leave your skin baby smooth but you may also get a few ingrown hairs as well b/c the hair is removed below the skin's surface. The more you use the epilator the less painful it is and the less frequently you have to do it. You have to find the method that works best for you...I have settled on Magic shave and touch up with a Norelco Bodygroom due to time considerations. Idf I had the time I would definitely epilate!

Hi sandyguy, thanks for this
Posted on September 12, 2009, 11:21 amHi sandyguy,
thanks for this blog.
So far I always shaved my balls and p*n*s, but recently I started to shave completely - I got exactly the same "problems" and was wondering why. Now I know a lot more due to this blog.
First I started to shave, then I used the version to remove the hairs one by one with a pair of tweezers - it is a lengthy process, but the result is very nice.
I did the same when starting to "shave" my balls and p*n*s:
You are clean for about 6 weeks. The newly growing hair gets less and less and it is very soft hair.
But also when removing the hair this way there are sometimes hairs that you ripp off and thus it starts growing below the surface. Normaly I just use a little needle to fetch it.
Enjoy your soft skin.

Sandy, I also have had some
Posted on September 19, 2009, 9:08 pmSandy,
I also have had some trouble with ingrowns after waxing, with the premade wax strips in the drug store. I refuse to shave my "girl parts," since it makes the hair grow back thicker and faster on me. Also, I don't want razor stubble there.
Anyway, after waxing, I use a cream called "Bikini Zone" which helps, but may not be something all you guys want. There may be an equivalent male product in the shaving section of the drug store, IDK.
The main reason I wrote is I wanted to mention, that i find it helpful to scrub there a little bit when I shower. I use one of those poofy scrub things you see everywhere, but a washcloth would probably work. This removes the dead skin that builds up there, and also the oils secreted by the pores. This way, the pores are less clogged up, and the new hairs don't get trapped underneath as easily.
When I'm thinking straight, I use a clean needle to gently lift the hair out, like Mike said. When I'm not thinking straight I usually scratch them and make a mess with my impatience at not having a needle handy, or the opportunity to sit down with my mirror and do it right.
Good luck to all you guys, I'm sure your girls appreciate all your efforts,
Joann

Posted on October 15, 2009, 3:06 amCarefully use these if you have bars and not rings in your piercings. I've heard of painful events caused by piercings getting caught/ snagged in these.
I like the poofy things, but please be aware!!

Yes Sandy, you're right. While I scrub with one hand, I cover the piercings with the other hand, and I have still snagged them a couple times.
My inners all have circular barbells, with 3 or 4 mm balls. VCH is hidden further inside, and has 6 or 8 mm balls, I haven't snagged it yet.
