So if you have read my previous journal, you know that I finally got my sternum microdermals. Here's an update for those who want to read on how they are doing:

Before I left NYC (where I got the dermals) I apparently had an allergic reaction to the bandaids I was using, this reaction caused the skin to swell so much that the two smaller dermals were sunken down in my skin. I visited the piercing shop to have them checked out and the piercer (Alex) popped them out of the skin for me, he said that he didn't want to try to change out the caps because they were so fresh and that if they kept sinking down to just lift them up. Well, a few days after this, they were still sinking and also developed an infection, it was pretty damn painful, I've included and image at the bottom of this journal.

With me being poor, going back to NYC so soon wasn't possible, so I decided to see if this piercing shop I had been looking into for awhile would be able to help. I went to Stingray in Boston and the piercer (was a girl, but I don't remember her name) wasn't sure if she'd be able to save the dermals, but she was willing to give it a go. She got the top cap off after a slight struggle of having to bring it out of my skin, both dermals had started reverse rejecting because the caps were too small to hold them up. She got the cap out and off, and it took her a few tries, but she got a new cap on. The middle one was a bit harder and it took her longer to get the new cap on, but she did it. She was almost very interested in the Biologixx dermals since she had also never seen them before. It was only $10 for both dermals to be changed out and the new caps included, which I was VERY happy about, also got some new jewelry for my ears, yay for matching earings!!

Currently both dermals are doing VERY well, though my middle one has gone a little crooked. I am trying to straighten it out by taping it down and hoping it hasn't fully anchored yet. It's not super noticeable, but it's a slight pain. My current after care is two SSS, one in the morning, one at night. The lymphing has lessened significantly, and my top two have finally stopped bleeding and I think I have finally gotten rid of the infection they had. So now all dermals are happy and healing well. I owe a big thanks to the girl at Stingray Body Art in Boston, that place is really amazing and I am going to get any other piercings I want there. I will update in another week or earlier if something comes up, which I hope it doesn't.
