First thanks to all the experience posters and the guys who help with their knowledge on this site. You gave me the courage to to it.
I am an mid 50s guy never pierced never tattooed ( though I want that now too). Never really considered a PA or knew too much about it until a few months ago, but as many know it became an obsession haha.
Got it at a highly regarded shop Portland (Ritual Arts), LGBT owned and operated. They were great even made a square old guy like me comfortable. Highly recommend Seven Wolfe the man who did me.
Just a little more I could drone on and on haha.
I am sporting an 8g was given choice of that and a 10. Only syle he had available was this cbr I wanted curved bb for wife, but I think this looks pretty good to start and it seems to be a popular choice when just pierced.
The pain: strange thing was the tube felt cold and hardly any pain. The needle really hurt and seemed to last a little longer than I expected. The jewelry was also painful but not quite a much. But.. Ive had worse medical procedures (sinuses!) and the pa pain is quickly gone and forgotten unlike other pain mentioned that was mentally traumatic.
Healing has been great IMO. Also surprised that swelling didn't start till about day 3 and peaked at day 5, I guess this is normal? Still slightly swollen at day 9. But absolutely no pain after leave the the shop and never any sting peeing.
Needless to say like almost everyone else I am a satisfied owner, no regrets.
