the septum usually isnt done
Posted on July 15, 2009, 1:00 amthe septum usually isnt done through the actual cartilage. there is a gap in between, which is soft tissue, that should be pierced....unless your anatomy didnt allow this, then i can see why it would be done the other way

Well I have some pretty
Posted on July 15, 2009, 11:08 amWell I have some pretty hefty scar tissue due to a freak accident...well part of it was a freak accident, the other part was my screw up. Anyway, I asked if the scar tissue could be avoided and they agreed it could be. Reason being...when I was riding a dirt bike a long time ago, I crashed and there was all kinds of brush, dead trees and humongous thorny bushes, which seems to be the only size they ever are in the Texas desert...and I happened to crash into one...lucky me. There were some old dead tree branches sticking out of the bush and one went into my right side enough to make me bleed way more anyone wants to, and the other went into my nose, scooping out a chunk of skin almost completely except for a tiny strand. The piece of skin eventually healed over, but now a have a bump of scar tissue right were you would normally get pierced. I was afraid that it would come out crooked...hence the cartilage getting the needle. My cartilage comes out a little further anyway...so it wound up being in a good spot in the end.
There is also a matching bump scar on my face right next to my right nostril, which you can barely see anymore. Glad all that happened when I was about 15. I have yet to crash on a street bike...so maybe the dirt wasn't my calling.
