When I first got my ears pierced a long time ago, in my early teens, I thought "D*mn, this is going to hurt". Then I got those with almost no pain at all. I got my eyebrow pierced for free by a good friend (professional piercer in a shop, not an at home job) and thought it would hurt at least a little, but really all I felt was the pressure from his fingers pinching my brow as he was piercing. I will always remember how cool of an experience it was.

More recently, I got my lip pierced, and again, expected at least a little pain, but felt almost nothing. Going through the healing/daily cleaning process is way more painful than the few seconds of pressure or pinch when you are actually getting pierced.

The other day though, I finally got up the guts to get a septum piercing (will have pictures when it's healed), and I thought the same thing..."d*mn this is going to hurt". This time, I was right! lol. I think it might be more mental than physical pain...since you get to hear your cartilage pop or crunch as the needle goes through. Makes you tear up a little though! It's nothing close to the pain I THOUGHT I would feel in reality, but it wasn't as pain free as the others.

I'm also glad I picked a good shop. There is one down the road that is appalling. It helps to have a good crew taking care of you in a shop where you can feel welcome. I don't have very many piercings or tattoos yet because I don't often have the extra cash to spend, and some shops make me feel out of place and like a "noob" because I'm not as tatted up and pierced as they are. This was a great shop though and the experience definitely out-weighs the pain. Once it starts to heal up though, it's not so bad. Pretty touchy the first few days for me, but it only lasts a little while, afterall. I've also gotten many compliments on how good septum piercings look on girls. Interesting conversation starter/ice breaker! lol.

Every experience I've had so far is awesome and unforgettable. Aside from loving the piercings themselves, the people and connections I make are what really hooks me. Love the jewelry I got from the Tribalectic site also! They have some awesome stuff and that made it even better. I'm obsessed with my jewelry collection and making it BIGGER little by little.
