I first wanted a PA piercing over 10 years ago. My then wife warned me that if I ever got my pierced, that would be the last time I ever had sex with her. So, I was not wanting to piss her off so I complied until now. Well, now that the divorce is nearly final, I had it done to celebrate. It was a sort of ritual for me to explore ownership of my and sexuality.

It was mid-day on a monday about 6 weeks ago and I was feeling spontaneous. I went to a local shop in town and went in for an enquiry. The dude behind the counter was working on a large tat on some young woman and he tried talking to me while he was inking this chicks arm. I did not reply until he stopped what he was doing. I said, "I'm Rico and I want a PA. Do you do them, or someone else around here?" He took off his rubber gloves and pulled out the collection of captive rings. He says "It's usually $100 plus jewelry, but since today is Memorial Day, its all included for only $50 bucks!" He was a bit too eager, but I had a $50 dollar bill in my pocket so I went for it.

He took me in the back room and said "Let me see how big you are so I know what size ring to get." I dropped my pants and he says "Ah, Big Boy. I don't know if I have one that big. I will have to take a look." He only had a thin 16ga ring that was big enough to fit around my mushroom head (3/4") but he pierced me with a 10ga needle. He had some dude come in that was painting the walls. He'd never even seen a PA getting done but he was asked to help. Piercing-dude asks the painter-dude to hold my while he pierced it. I was cracking up. Painter-dude puts on his gloves and holds my at the base and extends his arm like it was a rattler that was going to bite him. In goes the receiving tube and with a small pop, it was all over. It did not hurt except for a small bit while he was trying to get the receiving tube installed. He did the deed and put the ring on with ease. Then... blood.

He wrapped a gauze bandage over the top of the piercing, and taped it down. By the time the tape was in place, it had bled through. I asked for a rubber glove so he gave me one and I stuffed my in and we taped it on over my ball sack to keep it in place. I put my pants back on and went to the drug store for a pack of condoms. I could tell this was not going to be the end of the bleeding. I also got some sea salt and some Neosporin. I know... I'm not supposed to use that stuff, but I always have on all my cuts and piercings with out any issues.
So, I ordered a new 10ga captive ball ring and it came in after about a week. I cleand and salted everything, soaked the ring in alcohol, and without any incident, took out the 16ga and inserted the new 10ga. (See photo)

I have a new 6ga captive segment ring that will be going in soon. Maybe another two weeks or so. Making sure this one is all healed up.
