I had been thinking about getting a Prince Albert piercing on and off for about two years before I finally started to really look into it. I read all experiences on this site and looked up as much information as I could find. Convinced that this was really what I wanted, I planned to get pierced about a month later during my summer holiday period.
I got the piercing July 8th of 2015, one day before my 23rd birthday. I went tot he studio I had selected but unfortunately they were out of suitable jewellery. They offered to pierceme as soon as their supply was restocked but I had made up my mind I wanted the piercing that day so I went to another studio.
I was very nervous and almost shaking asking at the counter for a Prince Albert piercing. The man made me feel very comfortable and was surprised to find out that this would be my very first piercing. He cleaned my penis and we picked the left side of the frenulum to pierce at. I was expecting a receiving tube but instead he used a needle within a plastic tube to pierce from the inside out. I honestly didn’t feel the prick and was surprised to find this was all it was. I was pierced at 14 gauge (1,6mm) and immediately stretched to 12 gauge (2,0mm) to help with bleeding. I was fitted with a ¾ inch (19mm) CBR.
It bled fora bout 2 days afterwards but nothing too extreme. I did regular seasalt soaks twice daily and cleaned it with shower gel daily. I couldn’t keep my hands off it and first played with my new addition about 3 days post piercing. It took a quite a long time for me to heal, about 2 months and it was still irritating me because of the small gauge. I also started having intimate relations with a woman at this point and the small gauge was hurting me so I decided to stretch to 8 gauge (3,2mm).
I went back tot he same studio to stretch because I figured they knew what they were doing and offered to do it for free. He lubed up the taper and pushed it through in a firm push which hurt quite a lot, far more than the actual piercing. In retrospect it probably would have been better to take it easy and do it myself but I really wanted the thicker gauge as soon as possible. After about a week it wasn’t sore anymore and could have sex as usual.
After about half a year the 8 gauge ring started to look small and I wanted to try something thicker. I ordered a 6 gauge (4,0mm) ring in 16mm this time, because I wanted it a bit ticker around the head, and was surprised to find it slipped in with minimal effort. A year later I wanted to try out 4 gauge (5,0mm) and I was also able to push this ring through myself quite easily and it only felt a little tight as can be expected.
I decided to go back to 6 gauge (4,0mm) because I didn’t necessarily find the larger gauge ring to look better on me. I also had the problem of drips of urine coming out of the hole whenever I wasn’t wearing my ring. With the smaller gauge ring I didn’t have this issue so the pros outweighed the cons. I also wn a 2 gauge (6,0mm) ring but never tried to fit it in.
Reading all of the experiences here helped me a bunch so it would only be fair to share mine here.
Picture is a 6 gauge (4,0mm) 16mm inner diameter ring about 1,5 years after the initial piercing.
