When I stretched mine I
Posted on August 19, 2009, 10:15 amWhen I stretched mine I didn't skip gauges. I personally wouldn't recommend this. Especially if you had issues going from a 12 to an 8. 8 to 4 is a bigger step. Some piercers get over enthusiastic. Thankfully mine was not. He told me to take my time and if going up a size didn't hurt and there was no real pressure then I could consider the next gauge but he emphasized that I shouldn't rush things. I was able to quickly stretch to a 4 gauge. Keeping a gauge size for at least a couple of weeks but initially I started stretching fast...maybe just a few days to a week at each gauge. It was when I went from 8 to 6 that I slowed down. Now I'm up to a 2 gauge and eyeing 0 gauge but I'm going to stay at this gauge for at least a month. Just something to think about.

Posted on August 20, 2009, 4:18 amHi. You were right, my piercer recommended a move from 8 to 6 rather than 4 - so I took his advice of course, quite painless.
I'd already purchased the 4 and now the 2 as well. Like you, I believe I'll probably go to 0 now. As I mentioned the stretch from 12 - 8 was excruciatingly painful and although I was prepared to suffer again I now agree that the slower approach is probably best.
