I had long wanted a genital piercing. Unfortunately, I was a heavy monthly bleeder which was too much to deal with as was, much less with a piercing. But necessary surgery fixed that issue and I was free to do as I please. Pretty liberating for a 45 year old broad!

I had thought I'd be a good candidate for a triangle piercing because I have a large clit. I did my research on-line, found a few shops, and began calling to find out 1) if they performed triangle piercings; and 2) whether I got a good vibe from the phone conversation. After a few not-so-successful calls at other studios, I called (pro-gress) Body Piercing in Raleigh, spoke with Seth and felt right at ease. Seth explained that only those who are anatomically suited can get a triangle piercing and that it was really a small percentage of women that were eligible for it.

I checked their credentials with the county and state, read a bunch of on-line reviews, checked out their website - all good. So I decided to go!

The studio was not only sparkly clean, but it's really very cool. Feels more like a jewelry store than what I was expecting. Seth and I had a thorough discussion (complete with Seth's anatomy drawings) and we decided a quick peek at my hoohoo (my terms, not Seth's) would determine if a triangle was right for me. Like I said, I've got a sizable clit so I just knew I'd go home with a triangle. No such luck. But Seth assured me that a vertical clit hood piercing would be plenty stimulating.

Fair enough - let's do this! Although most of us gals are likely to feel awkward in this situation (spread-open nekkid with a gloved man gently handling yer bits) I have to say Seth was very non-chalant and definitely eased the anxiety. He explained the procedure, told me to start taking deep breaths, and explained that it would be a quick, not-so-sharp pain. No prob, I say, I'm quite experienced in handling pain. He let me know that even so, once the pain receptors brought the message to my spine I would have a small reflex action, probably in the legs. A few more deep breaths and eep! Hey, that wasn't so bad. And Seth was exactly right. I felt my legs do that same tiny movement they make just after a doctor whacks 'em with a little rubber hammer. He popped in the ring, a few seconds later popped on the captive bead, and I was done. It's so cute! I love it!

We talked about aftercare and some sex restrictions (grrrrr, though not as bad as I thought) and off I went, grinning like a fool. Got home and spent an hour looking at it, trying not to touch it (but touching it nonetheless), taking a pic or two, and calling my best friend to let her know about my new bling.

The next day I gave the ring a little tap and WOW -- I sure enough felt it - in a good way! I mean think about it - I've got a little piece of metal laying right across my clit. A little tap translates quite well through the tissues. Wahoo!

It's been a week and I've had zero problems and a few compliments (from the pic).

If this is something you've pondered doing but were a little afraid of - fuggedabout the fear! I was in and out in 20 minutes (and most of that was just chatting because we were excited about the topic.) The process itself less than 5 minutes. And the pain? Half a sec.
