Soooo I just got the VCH piercing (vertical clitoral hood piercing) so I thought I would share my story. I went to the piercing experience (in atlanta). They had the best reviews on yelp. I called a week before and asked all the annoying questions that I’m sure they are used to. When I got there, the guy at the counter was really nice. He answered all of my questions. He showed me all of the different types of jewelry. They did explain that I would first have to be fitted. So my piercer came out and brought me in to be fitted. She had a seat that looked something like a chair at the doctor.
I had my VCH done about two months ago. I was very nervous but once I've made up my mind to do something, it's being done. It hurt less than my labret and was only tender to touch for a week or so. It's now 2 months later and it seems to have dropped a lot and I'm hoping it's just stretched from the weight of the bar rather than growing out. I love it and I really don't want to lose it!! It was pierced as 12 gauge and I have a replacement bar in titanium on it's way to hopefully solve the problem.
1- go to a reputable shop! You should take the time and put in the effort to 'interview' your piercer. Ask questions BEFORE you decide on the piercing. If the piercer acts offended at your asking questions- go somewhere else. Piercers should want their customers to be as well informed and comfortable as possible.
2- have a consultation! Make sure that you have the proper anatomy (most of us do) to accommodate a VCH piercing. You can do the "Q-tip test" at home- but because all women are so different, it makes more sense to have a professional do this.
3- plan ahead a bit!
Unfortunately in NYC, there are absolutely no certified APP members. However I always go to Sacred Tattoo and get pierced by Starr! She is the absolute epitome of a terrific piercer who knows her stuff!
I stepped in one friday evening on August 9 2013. The day before I came to Starr and just asked for a consultation (to see if my anatomy was suitable for a VCH). So as a word of advice: you can always pop in for a consultation!! Was I super nervous? YES!! Im getting stabbed in my lady parts for god's sake!
Hi all! New to the forum but as I had my VCH done today, I couldn't resist sharing my experience. I had been wanting to get some kind of piercing for a while (already have two in each ear lobe and one cartilage stud) and was thinking lip or tragus. My boyfriend, who is away for the summer for work, half jokingly suggested I get a VCH done. I started researching it and fell in love with it. I wanted to make sure I got it done right so I researched obsessively and read all the info, experiences, and warnings I could find.
For years I have had the idea in my head to get a genital piercing, but had never taken action. I had looked up tons of information online and viewed many pictures. Finally one day I decided to just do it. So I searched for shops that did genital piercings. I was surprised about how many piercing joints don't do piercings down there. Finally found a shop, and went to get it done. I went alone and was nervous, filled out the paperwork, then laid on the table. I informed the piercer that I had done the q tip test on myself and wasn't sure if I was suited for a vch.
I got my VCH a couple of weeks ago by accident... I was annitially going to get a Christina but was convinced by my good "Female" friend who has hers done that I would love the VCH better...
She was right!!! I love it... The pain was one quick pinch that lasted not even a second and it was done... Aftercare was easy too... I would just clean it when I would take a shower... even had sex four days later and it was Awesome!!! For any woman who wants one they should definetly get one... I highly recommend it...
I had a VCH piercing done the beginning of March and I've never been happier. After having kids and even though they were both c-section, I just didn't feel so beautiful "down there". I'm sure some of you ladies will understand, but you just don't view it the same way. Anyway, figured it couldn't make me dislike it more so off I went to Dogstar in Durham. I would most definitely recommend Seth to anyone. Already feeling self conscious about the idea of having to expose myself to a stranger, he really made me feel very relaxed and comfortable.
So when I was a teen the idea of getting even my nipple pierced was enough to make my skin crawl! But now, I am the proud owner of three pretty piercings: my right eyebrow, left nipple and my VCH =)
I live in Australia and while I was able to access a lot of VCH info via this forum, and from The Piercing Bible, finding a good reputable piercer in my area was a bit of a problem... Simply for the fact that Elayne Angels reputable, awesome contacts were all based in the USA or the UK.
