I've had my septum pierced since August 19 2004. I've heard a lot of bad stories about this piercing being "god-awful painful" but this was the piercing I wanted more than any other (Despite the fact that my mother absolutely hates this piercing) I wasn't about to let anyone's opinion or bad experience make me back out of getting it. I was told I would tear up when the needle was pushed through, so I prepared myself for that. When I got pierced I never teared up, I didn't even flinch. It felt like a small pinch and that was it.
what a rush!! i have never been more nervous in my LIFE, but i told myself i didnt care how bad it hurt i was going to do it. let me tell ya, it hurt WAY less then my conch (OUCH) dont think its painless, it was alittle worse then my nipples or nostril but wasnt bad by ANY MEANS. if ya want it go do it! oh and if your worried about looking like a bull, dont. i was afraid of this as well...but you wont believe how cool it looks! and a breeze to hide! just go do it you wont regret it!!!!
i got my septum pierced two days ago at the chameleon in harvard square. i've heard lots of mixed things about how painful the septum can be, but i've heard good things about when people get them done at the chameleon. i picked out a small 16g retainer because i need it to be hidden from my parents before i can change the jewelry. i sat down on the table and owen, the piercer, stuck his pinkies up my nose to find my sweet spot, which he said was definitely in a good spot. he used a receiving tube on one side of my nose.
It was the day before school started and I was thinking, hmmm, I only know three people with a septum piercing. So I decided why the hell not i've wanted this thing since I was 9. So I called up a friend who agreed to pose at my sister, since i was 14. I then called the tattoo place and scheduled an appointment, and I was lucky they could get me in that very day. We quickly rushed to the parlor and I filled out some sheets and I was ready for the chair.
I've wanted to get my septum done for a long time but i guess i was too much of a wuss to get it but my boyfriend and i decided i would get it before i went to VA...which i didn't think would happen anyway. But yesterday he said something about it and we when to Ybor. I made him walk back and forth 7th ave. for a while because I was soo unbelievably scared/nervous.. anyway we finally when in to Monique's and filled out paper work and started to really freak out...which was stupid. Anyway, the piercing was really quick and not painfully at all!
so i've wanted my septum for a while. its easy to hide, and not too popular. Well my friend courtney did her own like a month ago, and it looks awesome. So yesterday I told her to do mine. we get a nail (it was new) sanitize it, and she shoves it in it stopped halfway and that hurt bad. she didnt wanna hurt me so she wouldnt just shove it through so that made it slow and painful, but finally she shoved it and tadaa. i have in a retainer, and i cant wait till it heals so i can put a more visible horseshoe in. i suggest getting it done professionally, unless pain isnt a biggie for ya.
I had been wanting my septum pierced for awhile so I finally found my courage to get it done. I went to Evolved in Columbus, Ohio and my piercer was Shawn. I was really nervous but excited at the same time. Shawn was exetremely professional and was very patient with me. I tried to small talk him for awhile to avoid the piercing but once I was ready I let him know. The piercing hurt a little but it looks great. It was a great experience and I am planning on going back to evolved for some more work. Evolvedbodyart.com is the website if anyone wants to check it out!
Ah. The septum. Quite lovely, isn't it? My experience was just as lovely as the end result. I had a wonderful piercer, who made sure everything was set up, sterilized, and ready to go. Clean gloves, bent needle with some gooey lubrication stuff, bang, through it went. Not really much more to say, except it didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. Dial antibacterial soap twice a day does the trick!
after reading all the painful, frightening experiences that people on this website have had, i was extremely nervous about getting my septum pierced. but i really wanted it, so i went ahead and got it done. i went to studio on sources blvd in the west island of montreal. it wasn't nearly as bad as i was expecting. there was just a bit of pressure and a little pinch, and that was the worst of it. i got it done yesterday, and it's still pretty tender. it was so worth it, if you really want to do it don't worry about the pain. i love it, it's really nice.
The first time I got my septum pierced it was extremely painful. Me and my friend went downtown to a piercing parlor to get it done. When the piercer pushed the needle through i teared a lot and blood was running from the wound. Unfortunately it wasnt such a clean slide so she had to put it in AGAIN because the blood was clogging the hole. She then put in a retainer, which was easy to flip up and hide from my parents. I should have kept that cuz the horseshoes are a lot to have in your nose. I took it out and it closed up...but a few months later I got it pierced again.
