So I have been wanting my tongue pierced since i was like 15. When I went hom for vacation my ittle sister had hers done in January and I figgered if she can handle it so can I lol. I almost chickened out too cause I am a big baby. Anyhow, I walked in and signed the release forms with a shaky hand. I then went into the back room and Ed (piercer) explained what he was gonna do and showed me my brand spankin new needle. After that is when I started to sweat. He told me to stick my tongue out and he dried it off and marked it.
I went to Thin Lizzy's in Springfield, Ohio. Me and my friend decided to get it done a few days before, and we just went for it. The woman who did it was very cool, she checked the bottom of my tongue and then explained everything from what was going to be done to aftercare. She had me stick out my tongue and hold it with my teeth so that it would stay in place but not hard enough so that "my tongue would be on the floor" (her words, not mine). She held my tongue with clamps, which felt weird but didn't hurt.
I just got my tongue pierced about an hour ago. I went to a local place in London called London Piercing Co. It was very clean and they are very down to earth nice people. I had just gotten a tattoo and suddenly decided to actually go through with my old plan of getting my tongue pierced. I sat down and he checked my veins, cleaned my tounge and all that jazz. He did not clamp it before he stuck the needle through and I didn't even feel it go through. I love it. It doesn't even hurt anymore. If you want it done just go for it.
OMG IVE WANTED MY TONGUE PIERCED SINCE I WAS 15 BUT I NEVER HAD THE GUTS. ONE DAY I AS SITTING WIT MY BEST FRIEND WHO HAS HIS TONGUE PIERCED AND SAID LETS GO DO IT. I WENT AND THE GUYS WERE SO LAID BACK I SIGNED ALL THE PAPER WORK AND BY THE TIME I WAS DONE HE WAS READY 4 ME HE TOLD ME TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH THEN I FELT A SHARP PAIN THROUGH MY TONGUE I BLINKED AND HE WAS SCREWING ON THE BALL TO ME IT WAS VERY PAINFUL TO ME THE MOST PAINFUL DAY WAS THE 3RD AND 4TH AFTER THE 6TH DAY IT STOPPED HURTING AS MUCH AND I COULD EAT PROBABLY. 4 MONTHS LATER I LOVE IT!!!!!!
So i got my tongue pierced on saturday the 3rd of march. i'm 18 and my best friend has it done, i've wanted it done for years and years but there was no way my mother would of let me get it done. so i turned 18 on the 26th of february and well. i gave up caring about my mother. so i went to Skin illustrations right near mcguire afb in jersey. i was a little nervous and it didnt help i had to wait 20 minutes until he finished a tattoo. he called me back and set me up. i rinsed with mouthwash. and he started setting up the clamps. and then a felt the needle go thru my tongue.

I have wanted my tongue pierced for a long time now, and I finally decided to go for it. I took the day off from work on a Friday, so the swelling could go down on the weekend. I went to the parlor, and the woman was really nice and explained everything. She used a 14 gauge to pierce with. It wsa really not painful. I was very suprised. I though it was going to hurt like hell, but I only felt some pressure. She did it very quickly, and in a minute or two I was done.I think the worst part was that night when my tongue was all swollen.
I got mine pierced in April 2 years ago. They used this weird clamp looking thing with a hole in the middle to hold my tongue. The initial piercing of the needle wasn't any worse than biting your tongue or giving blood. I wouldn't compare it to a shot as the needle reminded me in size what they use for blood donation. It made my eyes water. Mine was pierced with a 12 gauge and have discovered it's usually done with 14, probably why it hurt more. It kind of throbs afterward like stubbing your toe, until the endorphines wear off. Then it just flat out stings.
