Wow, I originally came to the Tribalectic site to find something new for my 00 gauge ears. But when I saw some of the selection that I could use for septum piercings I had to see if mine, (originally done in 10 gauge), was still open. It's been about 6 years since I wore anyting in it. Sure enough, with very little problem and no discomfort at all, the retainer slipped right in!
This was the most fun piercing experience I've ever had. My piercer took a really long time to pick out where he wanted to pierce my septum because I apparently have a great septum. After that it took three tries to get the needle through, my septum was extremely tough. This was the most painful piercing I've had but it was worth of it. Think about it, 10 seconds of pain for a lifetime of good looks. This piercing also healed very quickly.
this was the second of my major piercings. i got this one month after i got my bridge. once again i thought this would hurt as well because of what people said. wrong. it was almost painless. the only thing that sucked was when they put the needle through and your eyes water for no apparent reason what-so-ever. it bleeds for less than a minute. if the piercer does it properly and looks for your "sweet spot" you are good to go with an awesome piercing.
I just got my septum pierced yesterday at Big Buddha in Lubbock TX, where I live. It was my fourth (but not last) piercing. I knew it was supposed to be crazy painful but I decided to make it worse by asking for an 8 gauge to be used. The piercer (Alex), who I know and trust, suggested going with a ten and then stretching to an eight in about a month so I decded to do that. She said that my cartilage was thick and really solid (I thought "great") but she pulled two plates of cartilige apart a bit to start the needle.
Before i got pierced, i decided to get educated so that i knew what was going on when i was healing. So i finally decided to get my septum pierced as my first piercing. It happened all of a sudden one night when me and my friend were sitting at home after work. We just got up and went to the local shop and i got pierced. I'm not going to tell you that it didn't hurt because it did. It felt like i got punched in the nose and i could feel it all the way through my sinuses. After that, though, it was one of the biggest rushes ive ever had.
Its been almost 3 days since i have gotten my septum pierced. I am going to get a 12 guage septum bullet to replace the septum retainer starter jewelery i got. I got to say one thing i got such a rush from this piercing that I couldn't calm down for an hour. IT definately wasn't as painfull as I thought it was going to be. The piercer said I could stretch it in the future if i want but i am not sure if i am or ever will. If you are thinking about getting your septum pierced go ahead and do it.
I got my first body piercing (I don't count my ears) two days ago. From what I've read, the septum is supposedly the most painful piercing that is commonly done, but it hurt little more than a pinch. The shop was clean and tidy, and very professional. I have a 14ga circular barbell that I flip up to hide from family and the like.
This piercing went surprisingly easy. The piercer said that my sweet spot was very thin and that it wouldn't hurt bad. To my surprise it didn't hurt just a pinc and then it was over with. The shop was small but very clean. I am going to go back there and get my ears stretched and then my tongue. The jewelery I got was a 12 guage septum retainer. John
I got my septum pierced about a week ago. It didn't hurt at all. It made me a little dizzy. It looks awsome in my opinion. I would highly recommend getting one.
I have had my 10g septum for about 3 1/2 months now. I love it but everyone decides that they need to be cool and say that they are going to rip it out. I reply with, " And then I will beat the living
out of you." If your into piercings or not, cut the
and mind your own business. Us pierced people dont get at you non-pierced people for not having piercings...get a life and remember, piercings are much older and more justified than those few "cool" persons.
