I've been gauging my ears for over a year now. I skipped over the super small gauges and jumped right into 8g. When I first started it didn't hurt, but as time went on and sizes increased I noticed the pain increased too.
At first I was gauging almost every other month, which was extremely stupid to do, I didn't let the tissue heal and had a lot of problems at first. But soon I got the hang of it, only after I ripped my left lobe on a 2g plug.
After that I went down to a four again, letting it heal for a good three months before I tried for a 2g again.
I had my ears pierced a few times over the years with guns. At the time they were done body piercing wasn't legal yet in Vermont. Every time they developed issues and I had to let them heal. The last time they were gunned was back in '95, the same year my neice was born. They healed but were problematic ever since then. I could only were earrings a few times a year. I finally got sick of it. I went to my piercer Cindy, the same gal who did my nipples and labret and talked to her about re-piercing my ears with a needle.
I got both earlobes gunned in an obscure jewellery store for my 6th birthday. Nuff said.
The guy dotted my ears with a biro and then came at me with that disgusting looking staple gun thing. I'd presumed my ears would be pierced with a needle and then have the earrings put through them... But nope, he smushed them with a gun. It wasn't too bad, but the first one hurt enough that I didn't want the second one done. I only got it done because I thought I'd look stupid with only one earring.
Third lobe piercing on left ear. Done with a needle cause I have a phobia of guns.
Nothing much.

I got my first pair of lobe piercings when I was eleven, and the second pair just recently (I'm fourteen).
I didn't know any better so I got all of them done with a gun :/
They didn't hurt a lot, I just felt the force of the stud going through my lobe, not much pain, maybe just some pressure.
For my first piercing, I felt a throbbing sensation on my ears for a few hours. But then it went away and all is well.
I had my lobes pierced with a gun when I was young (OOPS.) Luckily they turned out fine and didn't hurt too bad. (The lady gunned me like an idiot. Please don't get your ears done with a gun.)
However, they were able to be stretched. I just pushed the taper in and the next size jewelry. Just because they were gunned doesn't mean they can't be gauged! Now the 1st one's an 8 and the 2nd a 10.
Okay, well I have between 0 and 00Gauges [I am currently sizing to 00] I had my ears pierced when I was younger and surprisingly they remained pierced all my life, I started sizing up when I was probably 16, but I have taken my gauges out several times since then when the time came for a job, or when I moved in with my dad.
Well I have also pierced my ex boyfriend's ears probably twice, and I pierced my cousins ears to a 14g.

Yesterday I got my 1st order from tribalectic. My only wish is that the orders would come faster! One of the items I ordered was no longer available- I got an email telling me of this issue and when I asked if I could just have my card credited for the item I got no run-around or arguments, only results and great customer service. I got a discount card I can use on all future orders (which I didnt know even existed). Each pair of earrings comes sealed in a little sterile pouch. And of course the earrings themselves were awesome! All and all a very good first experience!
My friend told me I could stretch every 2 weeks. I started at a reg. size piercing. The first few stretches were fine and only hurt a little. I'm now at an 8g and when I stretched to the 8 it hurt like hell. My ears swelled up for like 2 days. Wasnt fun bc my job is answering phones all day. So any newbs should know i think the 2 week rule mainly applies to small stretches. Guess I shoulda consulted a pro.
I got my first set of lobe piercings when I was about six. My mom took me to the beauty shop where she got her hair done. The woman who owned it knew how to pierce in addition to her cosmetologic stuff. I remember they stung and I whined, but I was a pretty tough little kid. My dad was so p.o.d at my mom for having it done!
