I got my navel done when i was 15. I was very nervous because I went to a shop to get it done and I have always done my own piercings because the thought of strngers pircing me scares me. But I got the guts and laid on the table. It didnt hurt and the guy did a great job. The only bad part was sleeping because I sleep on my belly, but after a week or so I could sleep on it again. It has never gotten infected or anything and healed great.
I got my navel pierced 8 months ago to this day, and I absolutely love it! I have never had any problems with it, and it didn't even hurt when I got it pierced. I went with my friend who was getting a tattoo that day, and decided that I wanted another piercing, and a navel piercing sounded like a great idea. My friend told me she heard a pop when the needle went through the upper part of the piercing, but luckily I didn't hear that or else I probably woulda been freaked out.
I've wanted a navel piercing for a while. For 2 reasons: 1) they are just so sexy looking and 2) it would negate the fact that I was getting older! Well, I finally got it... one week before I turned 50! Okay all, before you moan and groan let me say that I don't look my age, and I'm in really good shape. My oldest son came with me as my support system. Let's talk about a bonding experience... When it was done he says ' damn Mom, what a trooper. You didn't even flinch.' Both my boys (19 and 20 yrs old) thought it was very cool that I got it, and my husband thinks it looks great!
I decided to get my navel pierced. I'd never gotten anything other than my ear lobes pierced, so I was clueless. I knew where there was a long standing tattoo shop, so I went there. I requested a piercing, and one of the tattoo artists told me he would do it when he finished with the tattoo client he was working on. I sat and waited. He called me back, had me fill out paperwork, asked if I wanted a barbell or CBR. I chose a curved barbell with jeweled ends. He marked the spot while I was standing and asked if it was o.k. Looked o.k. to me.
I have always had a flat stomach and sort of a six pack since I was a tomboy as a kid. I've had numerous laparoscopies for endometriosis. So I had a little scar that was a perfect edge for a piercing so everyone thought. I finally got the nerve up, walked into a piercing shop in Las Vegas and they said let me see your naval. I lifted up my shirt and they said they couldn't pierce me because I had the wrong kind of belly. I hadn't heard of such a thing. Two other piercers told me the same thing during the next six months. So I ended up piercing my hood instead.
Today I got my navel pierced at Forever Sacred in Centerville, IA by Cynthia who rocks!
After going through the process of paperwork, signatures, and proof of ID I was ready to go back and get pierced!
I admittedly have been on the fence about getting a navel piercing, because I'm not the typical body-shape for it, but after some gentle coaxing, and some help from friends, I decided to get it done, for me. I pretty much say "it's now or never" and I decided it was now!
i got my belly button pierced at 11 from my dad my mom was so agianst it thats the main reason i wanted it lol so my dad took me and my older sister who was 13 at the time.
Now, to start off with I think it is important I explain how I grew up. My father is Jewish, my mother is Catholic, and my household has always been very . . . eclectic religion-wise. But I had a Bat Mitzvah, went to hebrew sunday school for a few years, yadda yadda ANYWAY. I had always been told I could not, under any circumstances, get any piercings other than in my earlobes or any tattoos - otherwise I would never be allowed to be buried in a Jewish cemetery if I should someday choose to be.
