So like most of my piercings, they are usually never planned. I may see it on someone and be like oh that would be cool to have on me! So about 5 hours ago, I was out with my best friend and I was like hmmmm... I think I want a piercing today. So we went to New Tribe Piercings and Tattoo shop in Toronto, showed my I.D paid my $45 and waited for Daryll to call me. I was use to him since he did my tragus before. He went over the aftercare instructions, cleaned my ear and marked it. Once me and Ida (best friend) ok'd the placement, I laid on my back, head to the right and took a deep breath.
Ok i sooo should not have came here and read these stories before i got my rook pierced! I almost had a panic attack i was so scared it would hurt like a mother. I read that its unbearable pain, you bleed, it takes sooo long to stick the needle through, you hear crunching etc - this is so not true. The needle on hurts a bit when they put it through and the only really painfull part was when the put the barbell through but it only last like 2 seconds. I really reccomend getting this done and not reading any of these rediculous stories bc it doesnt hurt that much and is well worth it
I got my rook piercing a year ago. I was on vacation in Virginia Beach with one of my best friends. We decided to get our ears oierced togerther I got my rook but her, on the other hand, got her industrial. I was fine getting mine, it didn't hurt at all. She got hers done and I watch, which was a mistake... lol. After we were done the guy who did it said to clean it with salt water. We both just looked at each other and then at him, we weren't sure if he was being serious considering he had been joking around with us before.
Okay so I pierced my rook on Thursday (July 23) after noon and honestly, it DID hurt! After I had it done I didn't feel much pain that day nor the next day. On saturday afternoon while i was cleaning it with anti bacterial soap like they told me to clean it, it started to hurt. Following day I woke up with a throbbing pain that lasted allllll day. it still hurts today (July27)! I took some Motrin and the pain got better but the minute i got home & cleaned it again, the pain is back. My ear DOES seem to be a bit swollen compared to the day I got it.
I've wanted to get my rook pierced for a whilee now.
I finally decided to go through with it because I'm stuck in the middle of no where taking a credit for school. (or at least that'll be my half-ass excuse for when my parents beat me.)I probably shouldn't have gone to the piercing place that I went to because the piercer didn't even know what a rook piercing was. I had to draw the dot on myself for him to give him an idea as to where the needle went.
Anyway, I was really excited about it and didn't want to back out.
After seeing my belly button piercings my friend decided she wanted to get hers done as well. She asked me to join her so I went with her but I couldn't help but get a piercing along with her. So we went and I hadn't made up my mind about whether I wanted to get the rook or conch on both ears. Turned out the conch piercings would cost me $100 vs. the rook for $60. So as cheap as I am I went with the rook piercing on both ears. I am so glad I chose this one. I love it! It is so cute. Okay back to the story lol.
I got this piercing done last week, just a rook on my right side. It was a quicky and only moderately painful experience, and I had high hopes that it would heal without a lot of fuss.
BUT now, I don't know if it's been bumped or just because that's such an awkward area to clean, this piercing has made my entire upper ear swollen to the touch and the pain is throbbing. I'm continuing salt soaks, about to try antibacterial soap on it, and will decide in the next few days whether to take it out or not.
I got my rook pierced in Tattoo Zoo, South Main St, Cork, 2 and a half months ago. It's almost healed now.
It was my first needled piercing. I'd had my lobes pierced with a gun when I was 6, and that was all.
Tattoo Zoo is undoubtedly the best piercing place in Cork, it's clean, professional and friendly. I don't think there's a single studio here apart from Tattoo Zoo that ticks all those boxes.
I was expecting it to hurt like a total b***h...i have a relatively high pain tolerance but still. i went in and was pretty nervous...it didnt help that my piercer was extremely nonchalant, unprofessional, and chewing gum the whole time, but he had gotten good reviews so whatever. it was a very spur of the moment decision. he had me lay on my right side (i was getting my left ear done) and put my right hand under my hand and my left across my body. he had me take a few deep breaths and as i was exhaling he pierced it. wow. barely hurt AT all.
i went to my everyday piercing parlor, after i saved up money to get my inner conch. the piercer was new to me and the one that usually did mine wasnt there,. i trust Ink Works so i told him what i wanted and went in.
he got a clamp (ddnt feel it at all) then told me to take a deep breath. ( he didnt mark it or ask me if i liked it) hafter the breath he shoved it through. it is NOT a breathe in breathe out its done piercing. there is alot of very bearable pain like getting a tragus pierced but over and over and over and him pushing and pushing it through.
