Okay. So being a fan of piercings (even though I don't have many...standard navel, 6 lobe, 2 cartilage, 1 helix, migrated horizontal navel)I wanted something less traditional. I'm 17, and I've wanted my rook pierced since I was 14, however I was too chicken to ever get it done. Reading up on it, I knew it was one of the more painful piercings, but feeling psyching myself up for it, I wanted it done no matter what. So making an appointment with my father's permission, I made one for 5:30 that day.
This one felt like a cartilage piercing, only maybe a little more painful because the spot is a little thicker. There is some bleeding that occurs when the piercing is done and swelling which is normal with any piercing. This goes away though and the piercing looks awesome
i love it. if u are thinking about getting it done i would totally do it... RIGHT NOW!
So a few hours ago i went to Splash of Color tattoo and piercing in East Lansing, Michigan. I had no idea what i wanted done, but was considering a tragus, rook, or helix to helix industrial. I ended up choosing a rook, and am SO glad i did. It was actually a fairly quick piercing-after choosing a ring with a cute little light blue ball, i was led to a room with purple walls (cool, i thought). After some conversation with Renee, i felt completely at ease. There was music playing softly in the background, and i concentrated on the skylight above and the clouds moving across the sky.
Ok first off she called it a moon so when i went and said rook i felt like a moron cause i had been too this site (thanks guys)but anyhow it hurt yeah it hurt pretty bad but the Chaz (the lady that did it) was SUPER nice and her nephew or i dont know was there and he watched me get it done and he was like WOW he was just really really hot and umm yeah also when i read these you people seriously didnt explain the sound right it was BAD i mean sooo nasty ewwww BLAH i dont know how to say it but thats The End.
i went to get it done the day after my fifth lobe piercing in Covent Garden London. i wasn't actually sure what i wanted so i just went for the rook. it was pretty impulsive. the guy clamped my ear (which i found a tiny bit painful) then when this scary Irish guy put the needle through i just felt pressure and a bit of pain. after it stung a bit. During the whole process i was pulling unnecessary faces and kept moving too much. I had a small ring put it and it looks fantastic! Anyone who is seriously considering this piercing go for it!
i got my rook pierced about a month ago and im so glad i did. ive wanted it for soo long but i was scared that it would hurt because so many people told me it would. i finally got enough courage for it and i went 2 Utopia to get it pierced by allen, who also did an amazing job on my industrial. it was the most painful piercing i ever got thats for sure, but it looks awesome and it only stayed sore for a couple of days. i recommend this piercing to anyone who wants it...dont let ur fears stop you because this piercing is really cool.
I went into a tattoo parlor that i'm friends with the owner and told him that i wanted my rook done with my best friend and sister with me to get the same. we sat in the waiting room while he staralized all of our stuff and then nervously went back the the piercing room. the clamp was a little uncomfortable but the piercing was a piece of cake. it was a small pain for a couple of seconds buh didn't hurt afterwards.
I just got my rook pierced about 3 weeks ago. I LOVE IT!!!! It's my 3rd professional piercing so far, and I mean so far. I had it done at Rock'N Willys in Rutland,VT. by my piercer Tim. He's really good!!
I just got my rook done about four hours ago and I have to say that I had a somewhat interesting experience. I do believe that the pain one has during a piercing is subjective. I do get nervous very easily, but I have high tolerance for pain. I have gotten my upper cartiledge done before and two sets in the earlobes, but this was my first real piercing where I went to a place and had the needle and the whole deal. I had been thinking about it for a long time and decided to go for it. There's a wonderful place near my school called The Hole Thing in Cotati, CA and it is certified.
hey, i got my rook pierced about 6 weeks ago. it's healing pretty nice, it didn't really hurt that much to get it done, but it hurt more afterwards. i also have my lobes done(since i was 1year old) and i have had my nostril done for almost a year now. my nostril hurt more then the rook to get done, but i was realy nervous see as how it was my first piercing since i was a year old. anways i went to the shop with my friend (who got her navel done). there is really no special reason behind my piercings i just wanted them and i want to go and get my tragus done when my rook is healed.
