I got mine done around a month ago for my 19th birthday, the piercing itself wasn't as bad as I had heard. From my resesrch I had expected some terrible pain but what i got was a hot stinging sensation that was very tolerable (it just made me wince a little) and some blood.
Please don't be put off by all the negative experiences, everyone is different and if you want it, go get it!!
Healing has been great for me, I haven't had any trouble, it did swell up a little about a week in but a little tee tree oil sorted that quickly.
So I have my right rook pierced, and I wanted a piercing to add something to my left ear. When I saw the snug piercing I knew I had to have it! I have a very defined snug area, so the piercer said it was a good pick.
The first time I got it, it felt just like my rook piercing--it was more of a pressure feeling than pain. Unfortunately, the piercer used a straight bar that was too short, and the piercing actually got pretty swollen and constantly was throbbing. I ended up having to take it out after a week and couldn't stand the pain of him trying to put in a longer bar.
So I read all of the experiences on here about getting the snug piercing and it terrified me. I thought it was going to be the most painful thing in the world. I went for it though. The actual piercing didn't hurt like I thought it would. My ear just felt really hot. When he slid the jewelry in though it hurt enough to make me wince. For the first week it just throbbed. No swelling or crust. But now it's swelled and hurts. The healing is the worst part if it all. If you are actually ok with constant pain on the side of your head for the next month then go for it.
I got my snug about 2 weeks ago on Christmas Eve 2011.
I had been looking for an interesting unique piercing to get on my right ear, since I only had 3 lobes, yet nothing on top. So when I found out about the snug piercing, I fell in love with it and was set to get it. Keep in mind i'm only 16, so when I went to get it pierced, I had to go with my parents.
*Getting it pierced DID NOT hurt at all . The only part that did sting a bit is when the piercer was sliding the jewelry through the newly pierced hole.
About 6 months ago I got my snug done. It was actually an impulse decision but I don't regret it what so ever. So I went to a local piercing place 'The piercing places'. I had been there before with my friend and the piercer Tom. When I went there, he explained to me the long healing time and asked me if I was sure that I wanted it. I agreed and he started marking out the spot.
After deciding the location he pierced it. The piercing didn't hurt at all. I didn't feel the actual piercing, more sliding in the new piercing that hurt.
The worst part was the healing.
I had gotten Snug pierced just today and, it was my first cartilage piercing, so I didn't exactly know what to expect. I already have my Madonna, Bellybutton, Helix and ears pierced, but when I had saw this one, I knew I wanted it despite what I had read. I must admit, the piercing itself hurt MUCH worse than I had thought it would. The needle seemed like it was taking forever to go in and, there was still SO much pain after that even, however, after leaving the piercer's, I had no pain what so ever and, I absolutely love my new piercing. If you're thinking of getting it, do it!
I just got the snug piercing on 1/21/11 for my birthday. I have my industrial pierced and I had my rook pierced but I no longer have my rook. I also have my cartilage and my belly button pierced. The snug piercing was by far the least painful ppiercing I've gotten.. There was some pressure and a little sting but the needle went right through the cartilage are and it wasn't bad at all. It didnt't bleed at all. I highly recommend this piercing because it's looks good and the pain is not bad.
i just got my snug pierced like, half an hour ago. it doesn't hurt!! DOES NOT HURT! not even when the little ball of the piercing felt down and the piercer pressed my ear because his hand was too big and the ball too small. really, doesn't hurt.
well, you can clearly hear the noise of the needle popping the cartilage... everything ok now, but he told me to have some anti-inflammatory and antiseptic soap. is just take care well.
you must do it. it's sooo beautiful, i'm in love with my ear *-*
I got my snug pierced four days ago by my best friend Amie-Leigh at hairhouse warehouse. She's been piercing for like a year and did my tragus on her first ever day of piercing. Anyways, normally when i go into get a piercing i prepare myself for the pain, but for some reason it never crossed my mind that this would hurt. Which it did. A WHOLE LOT. She couldn't get the needle through all the way cause it was so hard and the guy whos the pro and has to watch her took over and out it through the rest of the way. It was the most pain ive ever been in and i have 16 piercings.
ok i got my snug pierced and it was beautiful. it was pierced with a 16g curved barbell. it ddnt hurt like @ all really. then 5 days later it got majorly infected. so my mom took me to the piercing place. What happened is the barbell was smaller @ the outside of the ear just the ball showed and in the inside by my conch was clean. th oustide part was infected. skin was growing OVER the ball on the outside of my ear. the girl put on gloves and took it out. it hurt soooooooooooo badd aloott more than getting it pierced!
