Last week I finally got around to getting my inner conches done. I got 2 done in my right ear with 14ga barbells for now. I had a couple friends came with me to take pictures and we rolled into Warlock's about 9. There were 2 girls there getting navel rings (at least one was, I guess I'm not sure about the other one) and another girl getting a lobe piercing in front of me. I filled out the forms, ID, yada yada legal stuff. Autumn brought me in and we test fitted some rings then she put all the stuff in [the thing she still doesn't call an autoclave but I can never remember the name of].
So I finally got my right conch done. All balanced out. I had the left one done back in September. I will say that this is not a piercing for the faint of heart. For me the actual piercing is the easiest part. Pain on a scale of 1-10 I would rate at something like a 1.5-2. Not bad at all. However, these things take forever to heal and stay sore for quite some time. It is well worth the trouble though as I love them and get comments and compliments on them all the time. A big thank you to Brian and Eric of Living Canvas in Columbia, MO!! You guys are awesome!!
Third day of school i skipped with my girldfriend and a buddy of mine. after driving around we decided to get some subway then since we were by the studio i get pierced at (big rivers) i figured hey what the hell i'll get another piercing (had 5 at the time). so i went to see dan my piercer and after purchasing a silicon pair of 5/8th flesh tunnels i told dan that i wanted him to pierce my pubic mound but he refused because i wasnt 18 so he commented how good a conch piercing would look so i decided to go with it.
So I've wanted to get my conches done for a while now. As luck would have it, I got a bigger paycheck than I'd thought I would today, so I decided "what the hell?"I got it done at a fairly new place in town that I'd never been to (Living Canvas, if you're ever in Columbia, Missouri) and had heard very little about how their staff was. The guy I talked to was very helpful and even had a few ideas about variations and industrials involving conches.
Well I Had My Cartilage Pierced About 5 Weeks Ago and 4 Weeks After I Changed It To A CBR And Its Gone Back to the Yellow Crusting stage =( Yes I Had It Dun with A gun =(
this cartilage piercing is a large ring thats about half an inch in diameter starting deep inside my cartilage and sitting snug against the outside of my ear. see my pictures for more detail. this was the most invemtive piercing ive ever done because of what i used to pierce it. i used a dart, as in the kind you throw at a dartboard. it was just the right size to make a hole big enough to pierce the thick cartilage and not close up too tight so that i couldnt fit in the ring. now i have a captive ball and hoop in there.
My two most recent piercings are in my left ear (that is, looking at me, its on the right side of my face). for about five or six months, ive had two holes in my right ear, and three holes in my left. however, the way the three in my left ear were spaced out was sort of uneven. there was just enough room to squeeze in a fourth piercing between the second and third holes. so i took a stud earring (silver) and simply jammed it through. i was lucky here, just as i was in all my other piercings, in that the hole came out even and straight.
Years ago I saw a picture of a guy with large guage conch to lobe orbitals and loved the look of the big jewellery.I first had my conch pierced in '98 with a 1.6mm bar (the pain was minimal and I do remember a small crunching sound), Sam from Atlantic Coast pierced it and I kept the piercing for about a year. I sadly had to retire the piercing due to scarring, I was gutted because the spike looked awesome. Many years passed and I missed my conch so last year I booked another appointment with Sam and had it repierced in a slightly different placement.
I got my tongue pierced last year and my experience was similar to Courtney's experience. First the guy who pierced my tongue made me gargle Listerine for one minute and then afterwards he told me to make my tobgue dry. Then he used the forceps to grip my tongue and he stuck the needle in from underneath. It didn't hurt at all during or after the piercing. The only thing that hurt was when I yawned. I could still eat the foods the I ate regularly and that was about it. My tongue swelled up and stayed swollen for about 4 days max. Overall I had an excellent experience.....
this was one of my most intense piercings. 6 mm dermal punch. i had my normal guy do it. i trust him to do any piercing. i sat down and he proceded to clean and mark the upper part of my ear. he asked me if i was ready and i gave him the go ahead. what followed was at first what felt like incredible pressure, which proceded to become more intense and then it became incredibly painfull as he had to somewhat fold my ear back to cut a small piece of tissue. he then backed the punch out of my ear with a 2gauge taper pin and inserted the flesh tunnel.
