After reading quite a bit, I'm wondering if my initial piercing was too small.
I've had my piercing for three weeks now, and my initial jewelry is a 14 ga curved barbell. I requested a bent barbell, and asked questions about the gauge, and was told that this 14 ga would be best.
Now I read things that a 14 ga isn't recommended by many piercers, and that I should have been started at a 12 ga or 10 ga, and that I absolutely could have had a bent barbell.
Two weeks ago I stretched up to 6g. Without doing anything at all to stretch further, there seems to be quite a bit of room around my PA. I have a 4g ready to go, but just wondering if people think it's too soon to move up. My aim is to get to 2g or maybe 0g, but don't want to go any bigger than that.
So after waiting for 9 years, I finally had the time and resolve to get the piercing that I've wanted. Thursday, after work, I went to Underground Art, Inc. in Memphis, TN. to get my very first piercing. The piercer there is Sarah Forbess. She was absolutely wonderful. She was calm and relaxing and not too hard on the eyes either. I felt like I was in good hands.
The only pain I had lasted maybe 8 seconds and 5 of those seconds were from the receiving tube.
Good day! I took the poke yesterday, and like most have described, the receiving tube was uncomfortable. The actual needle did hurt, but only long enough for me to think "Oh it's really gonna hurt in a second" and by the time I finished the thought, there was no more pain. Just the weird sensations as he popped the ball into the CBR. Stubbing a toe hurts way worse and the pain lasts much longer. This was really nothing in comparison.
That said, I barely bled.
My PA is my first piercing and I've had it for 5 weeks. The actual piercing site is not irritated at all, but the urethral opening at the tip is really uncomfortable. When I walk around the ring annoys the urethra (particularly the lower part of the opening). The skin at that lower end of the urethral slit looks awfully thin so maybe that is why it's irritated?
I did a fairly good amount of research on this site and read many of the experiences you all provided before getting my first ever piercing, no tattoos either, the PA. Just wanted to get some tips from any seasoned veterans that could help me along the way of my healing.
I got the piercing yesterday (Aug. 26) and it was pierced at 10g with a bent barbell inserted. It's a very long bar he said was for swelling and initial healing. I bled a TON yesterday and throughout the night but surprisingly have not had any pain at all with the piercing.
I've had my 2g cbr in for 8 weeks or so and it was quite loose. Curiosity got the better of me and i ordered a 1g or 7mm cbr ring. I prefer these initially cos the ends are rounded and they insert easily. Well i gave it a go with a little lube and it went straight in. I can go up a size every 8 weeks so think i'm going to have to change to titanium or acrylic. Went with a 19mm this time and its a nicer less dangly size that hopefully wont scare the wife too much. I MUST stop at 0g tho. May get a hafada next.
Hey guys. It's been quite a while since I've been on here but I'm back to ask a question regarding stretching. I'm currently as a 4g PA which I stretched to myself at least 6 months ago. It's probably been longer though. Anyway, I've never had an issue with stretching up until now. I can only get the taper in about half way before it becomes quite painful. I try the whole warm bath thing but I can't get anywhere close to where I need to be for new jewelry. I do use a water based lubricant as well.
