I just have my PA for 2 weeks (and one day to be precise) and I think it is the right time to write a few words about my experience because all experiences shared here helped me a lot when deciding about getting it. So I want to give something back maybe it helps other guys to decide getting this great piercing. More detailed description is in my blog if you are interested.
First of all, I want to say that I am from Europe and not circumcised. It is important because it looks like the procedure is different in US. My piercing was done using cannula method that seems to be common in Europe.
Had a great experience with Rudy at Chicago Tattoo & Piercing 11 days ago, usual "doesn't hurt as much as you expect" and was healing well...and unfortunately snagged and ripped it out! Hurt for about a minute, streamed blood until pinched off, and 2.5 hours, a bunch of stitches, and a catheter for a week later I'm "naked" again. Urologist wasn't sure if "the fistula would close up and I may dribble forever" but from other's experiences of taking jewelry out too so I guess I'll have to get re-pierced. Not a recommended experience. 8ga ring actually opened up and was bent out of round!
I posted my pa piercing under "I finally did it" a couple of weeks ago. Since then I have had some reservations about the initial piercing. After going back to the shop that did the piercing first to get some question answered about the gauge and diameter used and getting nowhere I decided to find somewhere else. My searching led me to No Regrets Tattoos Emporium in Memphis, TN. One week after having the piercing done I went in and talked with Michael, he looked at the piercing and confirmed what I was worried about, gauge and diameter that was used was too small.
After about a year of having an interest in the Prince Albert piercing, and after roughly 6 months of research and studio-hunting I finally got pierced today at 10g. =] I got pierced at Sacred Art Body Piercing in Newcastle (Australia), and I love it already. The actual procedure was quite possibly the most uncomfortable sensation I've ever experienced before but totally worth it in the end.
So far I've not felt any discomfort or pain (not even a stinging sensation while urinating), and only the tiniest amount of bleeding.
have had my pa for several years now, started recently to gauge it. i was at the point that i had a 4g and 2-8g rings in together. felt comfortable in going with a 0g. bought a 0g yesterday, it went in way to easy, i should have bought a 00g, will next time. despite this, it still looks and feels kool, totally awesome.
As I mentioned in a blog post, I had been contemplating getting a PA for a long time, and I finally decided on it. I had been really busy with work so I couldn't find the time to go and get it done; however, yesterday I was only working in the morning, so I called the studio (Royal Oak Tattoo in Royal Oak, MI) after work and set up my appointment for 5pm. The entire morning and early afternoon I was so energized just by the thought of getting it done. By the time I left to go to the studio the nervous energy I felt was coursing through me.
After reading all of the experiences on here and getting the confidence to get the PA, I wanted to add mine to hopefully help others get the confidence of getting one.
Back when I was 18-19 I originally went to get a PA at a local tattoo shop. When I arrived I asked for just to have the piercest tell me that is not what I wanted. She proceeded to talk me into getting a frenum instead. I got the frenum and a year later had to take it out as it started to migrate and me wishing I got the PA instead of being talked into getting the frenum.
I'm 32 and haven't had a piercing before, and after doing a lot of research, including this site, talking to my local piercer a couple of times, reading the piercing bible, and even consulting with my doctor, I decided it was time this past holiday weekend to give plenty of couch time for recovery. After all of my research, I felt pretty confident that it would be a smooth process and recovery as many stories said the same things.
To start off with I'm 22 and I've been wanting to get a PA piercing for long time. After watching a few videos, they intimidated me a bit. To be honest, no point in watching them. People overreact extremely in them! I finally got the guts to call Black Hole in PDX and scheduled my appointment. I was very nervous when I got there but the piercer was very helpful describing the whole process. When we got to the room, she got everything ready and asked me to lay down. The only uncomfortable part was the receiving tube.
I'm a 25 year old guy from Belgium, so my apologies for my not so perfect English.
When I went to a gay sauna for the first time 4 days ago I saw a guy with this great jewel hanging on his dick. When I got home I could not stop thinking about it. The next day I caught myself still thinking about it. I started looking it up on google and found you guys. This site is great. With al the experiences I could read here I knew this was something I wanted to have. In stead of thinking about it for days, weeks or years I went to the piercing shop in Antwerp and got it done.
