Last year I self pierced my cartilage. I must say, it didn't hurt as bad as some people make it out to be. It was really hard to clean and got infected frequently. I would suggest that people do not self pierce their cartilage because as it is cartilage gets infected easily and doing it yourself makes it even worse. A lot of times my ear would be bright red whenever I touched it at first. But now its okay and healed completely, just when something hits your ear it hurts which doesn't happen that often.
i got my inner conch done about five weeks ago. it was about $45 at Jersey Devil Tattoo & Piercing in Blackwood, NJ. it was my first piercing to be done with a needle so i was scared. but the fear was the worst part of it. it didnt really hurt when the needle went it. and it was only a bit sore when i was just sitting there. my mom started to feel sick to her stomach so she had to leave and my friend came in. the guy had gotten jewelry that had messed up threads so he ended up leaving the needle in for longer than i wanted. thats when it started to bother me, but thats besides the point.
I'd heard good things about Rockstar Body Piercing (http://www.rockstarpiercing.com) in Providence, RI, so while I was in town this weekend I went in to check it out. The place was fantastically clean, well organized, bright, and the people were super friendly. I showed up about 30 minutes after they opened and there was one person ahead of me, I figured today would be the day I'd get my first ear piercing done -- an industrial in my left ear.
After seeing my belly button piercings my friend decided she wanted to get hers done as well. She asked me to join her so I went with her but I couldn't help but get a piercing along with her. So we went and I hadn't made up my mind about whether I wanted to get the rook or conch on both ears. Turned out the conch piercings would cost me $100 vs. the rook for $60. So as cheap as I am I went with the rook piercing on both ears. I am so glad I chose this one. I love it! It is so cute. Okay back to the story lol.
Well I finally got my tongue pierced 4 days ago and so far so good. I have wanted it done for a long time now and finally got it done. I went to a shop in a town not far from mine, which I heard was a good place. The place was clean and I was impressed with how experienced their piercer was. I sat down filled out some paper work and then was taken back to a room that was set up for piercing. I rinsed my mouth out with listerine, the lady put some numbing stuff on the top and bottom of my tongue, marked my tongue, clamped my tongue, and finally pierced it.
About 2 months ago my sister and I went so I could get my lip pierced. I had it done previously but had taken it out for a job that I no longer have. So I went back to Exposed Temptations, Deus marked my lip after having me rinse my mouth out with Listerine. He then marked where he was going to pierce it and on the count of 3 I had my lip pierced. I felt a little pinch but it wasn't really painful.
Last Thursday I decided to get my eyebrow pierced over at Exposed Temptations in Manassas, VA. Deus the Piercer cleaned the area around my eyebrow. He then made two little dots where the piercing was going to be. He asked if that looked okay and then he took the needle and pierced my eyebrow. There was a pinch for a quick second and it was over. There wasn't any pain.
